PONTYPOOL ENGINEERING DEPOT COMES UP TRUMPS WITH NETWORK RAIL DIRECTOR

Quattro would like to thank Nick Millington MBE FREng, Route Director from Network Rail for his five-star review of our Pontypool engineering/upgrade centre as well as the bonus story of his enduring friendship with Quattro Regional Rail Director, Trevor Hartnett.
“28 /08/1990 I walked through the door of the railway apprentice training centre and met Trevor Hartnett."
"Fast forward 35 years, and today we both conducted a joint Leadership Safety Tour of the Quattro Plant Ltd engineering depot in Pontypool."
"Trevor now being the regional director lead for Quattro Rail Plant, and me as the Route Director in the Network Rail Wales and Borders route (who depends on Trevor as a supplier)."
"It was good to see the care and attention put into maintaining the machines (for safety and reliability). It was also good to meet some of the 20 employees at the depot and the 4 apprentices (great to see the future in safe hands)."
"c.30 big RRVs overhauled here last year, along with c.60 trailers. Safely certified for another 7 years supporting the industry."
"I do have a soft spot for Railway Plant (having spent a number of my earlier years working amongst it)."
"Continuous improvement actions logged in our assurance system and good to catch up with Trevor again. We have been in regular contact since we were teenagers…”
Trevor Hartnett, Regional Rail Director, Quattro responds:
"We are very proud of what has been achieved in Pontypool. We appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to come and meet the team. Looks like you took all the hair from that years intake of apprentices..!"
Thank you Nick for this report and the excellent photos too!
