Quattro and CML Deliver Complex Ivy Lane Footbridge Installation

Over the Easter weekend, the Quattro rail crane team delivered the installation of the Ivy Lane footbridge for CML during the blockade on the Barnham to Bognor Regis line. Two Quattro rail cranes worked in unison to tandem lift the bridge into place. Following the successful installation, the Quattro rail crane team received positive feedback from Ian Dimmock, Project Manager at CML. He praised the team’s performance and professionalism throughout the operation.

Approval for the initiative has reportedly been granted by the Hybrid Equine Energy & Haulage Association Worldwide (H.E.E.H.A.W.), clearing the way for expanded deployment.

Newly qualified plant fitter Oliver Noble shares his joy in achieving an early distinction at only nineteen years old. Hatfield’s Oliver Noble doesn’t turn 20 until 20th September 2026. Last year, he was a finalist for the Plant Mechanic Apprentice of the Year (South Region) Award, and now, at just nineteen years old, he has qualified with a Level 3 NVQ in the complex field of Land Engineering, not only with a distinction but also five months ahead of schedule.

Q-Army takes urgent call to clean up coastal damage from Storm Ingrid

Late last Friday night Quattro took an urgent call to support emergency works on the South Devon coast after Storm Ingrid battered through a brick-retaining wall adjacent to the railway. Colossal waves led to a section of the wall failing, with a significant volume of brickwork and masonry falling onto the ballast and fouling the running line. Due to ongoing high wave activity, poor ground conditions and restricted access along the coastal section, a specialist RRV was required. By Saturday morning, Quattro’s PW160-8 had worked on the safe removal of displaced masonry and debris clearance.

Quattro has been named CRSA Aston Depot Supplier of the Year, marking a major milestone in a partnership that has been going strong for the past eighteen months. The award recognises consistent performance, planning excellence and a shared commitment to quality delivery. Contracts Manager for Quattro’s Northern Region, Callum Jardine was invited to receive the award on behalf of the business: “We’re absolutely delighted to accept this honour. It really reflects the strong collaboration we’ve had with CRSA Aston from the get-go, and the way both teams have worked together to deliver results. It means the world, thanks CRSA!”

Review of Quattro's completed recovery of Clapham Park shunters: “Flawless!”

Recently, Quattro completed the recovery of the Clapham Park shunters accommodation and control room. The scope of work involved the recovery of four cabins, each weighing 7.5 tonnes at a 10.5-metre radius, comfortably within the team’s 14.1-tonne SWL limit, as well as the installation of four new cabins. The project utilised a well-coordinated fleet that included one of Quattro’s specialist AC55 cranes, an RRV taxi with four trailers and an RRV MEWP.

Quattro Plant recently completed an important delivery operation at Blakey’s Yard, the access point closest to Cutty Sark Station, which is currently closed for upgrade works. The task involved transporting new escalators to the DLR platform via a route that included a steady 6% gradient.
