REPORTS TO: Area Manager

Key Responsibities

1. To ensure the yard is clean tidy and kept in a safe condition.
2. Cleaning of vehicles including Vans, Sweepers, HGV’s, Plant and Attachments
3. Loading and Offloading of Machines and Plant from Lorry Loaders and Hiab Lorries
4. Ensuring that plant attachments are stored correctly and safely in the Yard
5. Maintaining the cleanliness of the workshop area and that any spillages etc are cleaned in a timely manner.
6. Maintaining the storage of tyres, buckets in a safe and tidy manner
7. Conduct weekly Asset check of plant that may be in the Bury Depot details of Asset Number or Serial Number
8. Escorting abnormal loads or oversized vehicles.
9. Steering hydraulically controlled heavy haulage trailers in areas with limited space / turning radius
10. Undertake basic maintenance activities independently as instructed
11. Assist in more complex maintenance activities under supervision
12. Carry out general depot duties
13. Conduct Safety Tours and promote a positive safety culture

Experience and Qualicications

1. Experience in Escorting abnormal loads or oversized vehicles is essential.
2. Experience in undertaking steersman duties
3. Clean Driving Licence (preferably Class 1 but not essential)
4. Preferably holds escort Driver qualification such as City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Abnormal Loads - Escort Driver
